What we Believe
God
There is only one living and true God. He is the Creator, Redeemer, and Ruler of the universe. God is all powerful and all knowing. He reveals himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Ephesians 4:6 “One God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all.”
Colossians 1:16 “For everything was created by him in heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities- all things have been created through him and for him."
Salvation
Jesus Christ came to reconcile us with God. He lived a life without sin and willingly died on the cross to pay the penalty for our transgressions. God raised him from the dead and now, by grace, offers as a free gift eternal life to all who follow Christ, by faith, as their Lord and Savior. That is why salvation can be found in Christ alone. Salvation is given to all who call upon the Lord for Salvation. It is a gift from God and not of man.
Ephesians 2:8 “For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift”
Romans 10:9 “If you confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
The Scripture
We believe all scripture is inspired by God. Therefore, we believe all scripture is totally true and trustworthy. The Bible is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is his perfect divine instruction. It is the principles of how the Christian life should be conducted, as well as the path to salvation.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 “All scripture is inspired by God and is profitable for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work”
The Church
The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. The body of Christ should be unified and grow together through studying scripture and prayer.
Ephesians 2:19-22 “So then, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with saints, and members of God’s household, build on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the cornerstone. In him the whole building, being put together, grows into a holy temple in the Lod. In him you are also being built together for God’s dwelling in the Spirit”
Mankind
Man is the Special creation of God, made in his own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of his creation. By his own choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the world.
Genesis 1:26 “Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness. They will rule the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the livestock, the whole earth, and the creatures that crawl on the earth”
Marriage
We believe that marriage is to be between one Man and one Woman as God created man and woman to be joined as one.
Genesis 2:24 “This is why a man leaves his mother and father and bonds with his wife and they become one flesh.”
